A strong fourth inning erased a three-run deficit, and the Great Lakes Loons defeated the Cubs 5-4 Monday in South Bend. Jordan Sheffield lasted 3 innings, giving up five hits and three runs for the Loons, before Parker Curry gave up only two hits in 3 2/3 innings for the win. Luis Paz hit his first home run of the season in that productive fourth inning for the Loons.
