Tyler Perry has stepped in to help a family who lost their mother in a shooting. Tynesha Evans had fallen on hard times. Her boyfriend, Othniel Inniss, told her to meet him at a Georgia bank so he could give her rent money. Instead he shot Evans in the parking lot.
Once Tyler learned about the tragic news, he called the family to offer financial support. “It was a call I wasn’t even going to answer,” Evans’ daughter Audrey Turner told the local news. But once she answered the phone, she was so overwhelmed that she burst into tears. Apparently the mogul offered to fly their mother’s body back to her home in Wisconsin for the burial and cover their rent for six months.
Perry also offered to take care of Sharadiant Turner’s tuition. The Spelman College freshman said she’s going fulfill her mom’s wish. “I’m going to do what she wanted me to do. She started me on math, and now I’m going to get to graduate with a mathematics degree from Spelman College without debt. It means everything,” she said. While the family is still grieving, they are forever grateful for Perry’s “amazing” act of kindness.
