- Britney Spears has taken to Instragram to address fans for the first time since checking into a mental health facility
- She addressed rumors that she’s being held against her will and insists “all is well”
- She says her famiy has received death threats, and she tells fans not to believe everything they read
As we previously told you, Britney Spears fans started a “Free Britney” campaign after rumors suggested she was being held at a mental facility against her will, but now the singer is addressing the claims, and wants fans to calm down.
Britters posted a video on Instagram where she insisted to fans that “all is well,” noting, “my family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately so I just needed time to deal.”
In the caption for the video she addressed all the rumors out there, noting, “things that are being said have just gotten out of control!!!,” adding, “There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said. I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me. Don’t believe everything you read and hear.”
She then added, “My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment.” Check out the video to the right.
- On a related note…Britney’s sister Jamie Lynn has also piped up on social media to defend herself, posting video of her defending her sister almost a decade ago. “Ten years ago, who was there?? I have been here long before anyone else, and I’ll be here long after. I love my sister with everything I have,” she shares. “So, anyone or anything that speaks to the contrary can GTFOH with all the comments about what you don’t understand.” She added, “Do not come for me or the ones I love anymore. You can move the ‘blank’ outta here with all that, just like this other lady who was running her mouth.” Check it out below.
- ONE MORE THING! TMZ reports the real reason Britney is in treatment is because there was an issue with her medication. They say doctors were adjusting the meds she’s been taking to keep her stable since they started to become ineffective, and there were problems. Doctors worked to create a new cocktail of drugs for Brit but first they had to wean her off what she was taking, which is a careful process. Then in creating the new cocktail there were some issues, which caused Brit to become unstable, and made her uncooperative. That created the need for her to get help, and doctors have reportedly now found the right meds to get her back on track.
- BUT WAIT – THERE’S MORE! A Broadway-bound musical featuring Britney’s music is now going to be turned into a movie. Sony Pictures has just purchased the rights to “Once Upon a One More Time,” a fairy tale story that features such Brit songs as “Oops I Did It Again,” “Lucky,” “Circus” and “Toxic.” The stage version is scheduled to preview at the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago before hitting Broadway next year.
