The remaining buildings on the Mt Pleasant Center property will be demolished this year. Mount Pleasant City Commissioners approved a $2.5 million contract with Melching Inc. for the demolition on Monday. After $600,000 in administrative oversight costs, the project will cost the city $3.1 million, which will come from the city’s existing fund balance.
