Michelle Obama launched the Global Girls Alliance (GGA). The GGA will aim to empower teen girls through education. She launched the GGA on the International Day of the Girl and the program is a part of the Obama Foundation; it will support grassroots leaders around the world who are strategically battling issues within their communities. Notable supporters of the GGA include: Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, and Yara Shahidi.
