The Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that killed a 21-year-old from Ithaca. It happened on Saturday, Jan. 4 in Emerson Township. The sheriff’s office said a vehicle, driven by Autum Mendoza, was northbound on US-127, near VanBuren Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
*Another Gratiot County crash took another life. A work van driven by 27-year-old Garrett Lang of Midland was heading east on Harrison Road when it ran a stop sign at Lumberjack Road and hit another vehicle. 62 year old Carson Nokes of Bannister was driving north at the intersection when his vehicle was hit. His passenger, Patricia Nokes, was pronounced dead at the scene.
