This year’s Kennedy Center honorees have been announced. Actress Sally Field and the long-running children’s TV show “Sesame Street” both made the cut. It’s the first time a TV show has been recognized with the honor.
“The Kennedy Center Honors celebrates icons who, through their artistry, have left an indelible stamp on our collective cultural consciousness,” Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein, shares. “Sally Field has brought us unforgettable characters, both joyous and poignant, for more than five decades… [and] ‘Sesame Street’ continues to revolutionize how children and adults learn about our world.”
Others being recognized this year include Linda Ronstadt and Earth Wind & Fire. This year’s Kennedy Center Honors celebration will take place on December 8th.
