The Clare County Sheriff’s Office and other programs are feeling the pinch of the Clare County budget deficit. Of a $12 million county budget, the Clare County Sheriff’s Office makes up nearly half of that, employing nearly 90 people. In the meantime, the department is accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Sheriff. Now, cuts are being made in the department. Plus, both the Parks and Rec department and Mid-Michigan Development Corporation have been cut completely.
