Jonathan Van Ness, Adam Lambert, Matt Bomer and more stars raised money for LGBTQ centers and coronavirus relief yesterday as part of GLAAD’s “Together In Pride: You Are Not Alone” live stream. Billy Eichner and Lilly Singh hosted the virtual fundraiser, which benefited the CenterLink coalition.

By the end of the night, the event successfully raised more than $225,000 for CenterLink and local LGBTQ centers affected by COVID-19. The largest donor of the night was the Ariadne Getty Foundation, donating $150,000 to the cause. Throughout the event, stars shared their coming out stories and performed some of your favorite songs. Here are the highlights:

  • Adam Lambert recalled how much his life changed after he came out a decade ago in 2009. He made headlines that same year after kissing another man during an American Music Awards performance, after which he “had to apologize”… and he says “a lot has changed in 10 years. He also announced that his Feel Something Foundation has teamed up with GLAAD to auction off some of his iconic on-stage looks for LGBTQ causes. The auction runs on eBay until May 6th.
  • Matt Bomer talked about how it’s been social distancing with his husband and three kids. “It’s been a period of adjustment,” he said. “I feel for all parents and kids dealing with academic and emotional needs.”
  • “Queer Eye’s” Jonathan Van Ness gave his expert tips on staying groomed during quarantine… although he noted style is more of a state of mind. “It’s not much about how we’re looking but about how we’re feeling,” he said. “Get creative with what you have, but it’s okay if you don’t want to change clothes all the time.”
  • As for musical performances… the cast of Broadway’s “Jagged Little Pill” made an appearance to perform Alanis Morissette’s uplifting anthem “You Learn.”
  • Melissa Etheridge gave two performances, one of her 2016 song “Pulse,” but also a powerful rendition of “Come To My Window.”
  • Kesha closed out the show by performing her song “Rainbow” while wearing a sweater with a rainbow on it, saying the song is all about “seeing a rainbow through a sh*tstorm.”

Other celebrity guests included Sharon Stone, Dan Levy, Rosie O’Donnell, Michelle Visage, Ross Matthews, Shangela, and YouTubers Gigi Gorgeous, Patrick Starrr and Tyler Oakley.
