31-year-old Dennis Pope Sr. of Mt Pleasant was sentenced to 55 months in prison on charges of assault causing serious bodily injury. U.S. District Judge Thomas Ludington also imposed three years of supervised release. Pope pleaded guilty on April 5th after evidence established he was trying to forcibly get the victim’s credit card on March 25th.
