An Isabella County educator is among five people competing for the title of “America’s Favorite Teacher” in a Readers Digest contest. Kindergarten Teacher at Beal City Elementary, Amanda Schmidt, entered the contest that will award top teacher $25,000, a trip to Hawaii & an appearance in the magazine. She’s survived three elimination rounds to be one of the five teachers.
