Clare County Sheriff John Wilson will have a democratic challenger in November’s general election. Barney Ledford, a criminal justice and law enforcement instructor at Mid Michigan Community College has thrown his hat in the race. Ledford served as undersheriff for 12 years during former sheriff Jeff Goyt’s administration, and says he’s running because criminal justice is his passion.
