22-year-old Jessica Cross and 29-year-old Jerome Sterling Jr. both face multiple charges, including filing a false police report and lying to police. The couple told Mt Pleasant police officers inconsistent stories about how Cross ended up in the hospital with a stab wound. Sterling told police he was stabbed during a drug deal gone bad, but the location of the assault changed three times, and didn’t match up with Cross’ version of the story.
