The Great Lakes Loons captured their first ever Midwest League Championship on Sunday, defeating the Clinton LumberKings 9-8 at Dow Diamond. Saige Jenco, Logan Landon and Matt Jones each had two RBIs apiece in the victory. After struggling through the first half of the season, the Loons used a strong push in the final weeks of the season to secure the playoff berth, and won series against Bowling Green and West Michigan before defeating Clinton in the finals three games to one.
