The Alma City Commission unanimously approved new water and wastewater billing rates this week. Water rates decrease by about 35 cents from the previous year for a typical residential customer using 4,000 gallons per month. The same resident can expect their wastewater rate to go up about $2.41 per month. Solid waste rates increase to $21.50 per residence, from $20.45. The new rates become effective after July 1st.
