Polata Palace in Tibet (Pixabay)

If you could go anywhere in the world..where would it be?  There are a lot of place I would like to go.  One of them is Polata Palace, located in the Tibet area of China.  It was one of the most magnificent man made structures in the world!  It was the residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India during the 1959 Tibetan uprising. It is now a museum and World Heritage Site.

Polata Palace Room

It was built in the 1600’s and contains over 1000 rooms and 10,000 some shrines.  It is believed to be the worlds highest ancient Palace at 3,700 meters above sea level.  It would cost a lot of money to get to Tibet, and even more to visit Polata Palace, but it is truly a man made wonder that I would love to see in person!  The pyramids would be one thing, but I would be more interested in seeing Polata Palace because of the art and intracacy of each room.  To find out more about Polata Palace click here.
