- Roseanne Barr made her stand-up comeback over the weekend
- She told some controversial jokes, including about suicide
- She slammed ABC for firing her and killing her off on the show
Roseanne Barr returned to the stage this weekend for her first stand-up gig since getting fired by ABC… and as you might’ve expected, she didn’t hold back. After a flattering introduction by fellow comedian Andrew Dice Clay, she made some controversial jokes, including comments about suicide.
“When you get fired you get real suicidal,” she said. “But I’d never kill myself because that would make too many people happy, and I’m not about making people happy.”
She also took some shots at ABC directly for canceling her “Roseanne” reboot over racist comments. She read an expletive-laced letter to the network, slamming them for killing her off on the show after she “delivered the highest ratings in 10 years.”
