The Detroit Tigers offense stayed hot in an 11-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, their seventh straight victory. Struggling starter Anibal Sanchez had six very strong innings of six hit, one run baseball for Detroit. Miguel Cabrera hit his 24th home run of the season in the sixth for the Tigers.
The Tigers also made several roster announcements on Tuesday. First, they announced that starting pitchers Jordan Zimmermann and Daniel Norris were both activated from the disabled list. Zimmermann will be assigned to Detroit and a player to be named soon will be sent down to Triple-A Toledo. Meanwhile Daniel Norris was sent directly to Toledo. The team also announced that pitcher Mike Pelfrey was placed on the 15-day disabled list. J.D. Martinez will replace Pelfrey on the roster when he returns later this week.
