The Mt Pleasant Planning Commission recommended rezoning land in University Park to give Central Michigan University legal control over the buildings in the area. University Park covers about 300 acres south of Bluegrass Road near Theunissen Stadium. Currently, the area is set aside for scientific, business and industrial research operations.
