A 63-year-old Indiana woman walked out of the Mt Pleasant Meijer store over the 4th of July weekend with hundreds of dollars in clothing, jewelry and more hidden in her handbag. Loss prevention specialists began monitoring the woman after they observed her removing tags from items, according to a police report. Store officials and police recovered just shy of $400 in merchandise from her purse. The woman received a misdemeanor retail fraud ticket, which holds up to a 93-day sentence.
