Mt Pleasant city commissioners voted to make a pilot recycling program permanent. The commission voted in 2015 to run a one-year experiment allowing multi-family homes, rooming houses, and condominium developments to participate in curbside recycling. The program was so successful, in large part thanks to student housing, that the commission elected to keep it alive.
