Believe it or not, we’re only a month away from the Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival. Thousands flock to the sweetest little town anywhere around for this annual April event. This year, the Maple Syrup Festival runs from Friday, April 28th to Sunday, April 30th.
Events this year include the carnival, pancakes and syrup, demolition derby, garage sales and parades.
In order to host festival events, the Village of Shepherd closes several streets to residents and festival visitors. Shepherd police chief Luke Sawyer took to Facebook on Tuesday to let everyone know what to expect:
While many streets will be closed, parking can be a challenge. Keep in mind that you need to get permission from local residents to park in their lawns. Also, please stay off people’s grass when parking streetside.
As always, we here at My 1043 will be all over Shepherd for the maple festivities. Join Matt Collins on Friday, April 28th from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Mercantile Bank on the corner of Wright and Second Streets. And, come chow down on pancakes and yummy Shepherd maple syrup with Matt and Chris Spachman Saturday at 10:00AM.
Also, check out the official Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival website for a full calendar of events.
