Matt Lauer may have fooled people into thinking he was a good guy, but Denis Leary was NOT convinced. During his appearance on yesterday’s edition of CBS’ “The Talk,” the actor offered, “I thought he was a creepy, douche guy from the get-go.”
While Matt never made any moves on Denis – nor did Denis say he saw anything amiss – his feels weren’t about that, adding, “I just got a weird, weasel-y vibe from the guy.” He goes on to say that he was so skeeved out that he told his publicist, “I don’t want to be interviewed by him anymore. I want to be interviewed by the girls.”
To that end, in 2016, he spoke with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. He also had a roundtable chat with Natalie Morales, Al Roker, Wille Geist, and guest host Ellie Kemper – but Lauer was never “in.”
And sure, Denis says he’s all about second chances for most people, but that Matt deserves such grace. “When you have a button under your desk to lock women into your office,” he noted. “You know what? Screw you.”
- ONE MORE THING! Matt got a bit of good news in the midst of his current situation. Even though he’s newly unemployed – courtesy of the sexual misconduct allegations – he won’t lose his screentime in “Lady Bird” and “I, Tonya.”
