Johnny Depp has filed a $50-million defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard. In the suit, he calls her domestic abuse claims “an elaborate hoax to generate positive publicity.” Now he’s upping the ante and alleging she had some help staging the alleged beating to make him look bad.
Earlier this year, we reported that a close friend of Heard’s, Raquel Pennington, testified that she took “dozens of photos” of Heard’s bruises, although two police officers testified that they didn’t notice the injuries. In his suit, Depp claims that he can prove Heard and her sister Whitney Heard orchestrated the attack. His witness? An employee working at their penthouse, Trinity Esparza.
Esparza reportedly claims she watched surveillance footage from May 2016, that showed Whitney, Amber and Pennington laughing together after Whitney pretended to punch Amber in the face. In the docs, Esparza says that she thought it was “wrong” and that it made her “question more how Ms. Heard ended up with a ‘mark’ on her face three days later.”
