Alex Trebek usually hosts “Jeopardy!,” but yesterday, he took to social media to reveal that his health is now jeopardy. In a video posted online, the game show host explains that he’s been diagnosed with Stage-4 pancreatic cancer. He says he plans to keep working as he battles the disease “with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also.”
And while his illness has very low survival rates, the 78-year-old says he plans to beat them. “Truth told, I have to,” he cracked. “Under the terms of my contract, I have to host ‘Jeopardy!’ for three more years!” You can see his complete announcement on the right.
Alex’s announcement sent shockwaves through the community of fans and TV hosts. He’s gotten notes of support from everyone from Pat Sajak to the prime minister of his native Canada, Justin Trudeau…and of course, ALL OF US! We’re pulling for you Alex!
