- Dax Shepard says there are “several” Coldplay songs that make him choke up
Gwyneth Paltrow is the latest to sit down for an interview on Dax Shepard’s podcast, “Armchair Expert.” It turns out Shepard is a huge Coldplay fan, so among other topics, they spend a few minutes bonding over her ex’s band.
Paltrow starts off the love fest by recalling how Chris Martin wrote the band’s song “Paradise” in four minutes after a “regular night” of having dinner and putting the kids to bed. Shepard can’t believe the story, singing a bit of the tune that he says “got me big time.” In fact, he says there are “several” Coldplay songs that “really got him in a chokehold” – including their smash hits “Yellow.”
When it comes to hits like “Yellow,” Shepard comments on how some songs become a big part of people’s live – like when couples have “their song.” “Probably 16 million people around the world have, like, decided it’s theirs,” he says of “Yellow.” Paltrow agrees and responds with, “it’s so nice at a Coldplay concert, you can spot what those songs are.”
