It’s not looking good for Aunt Becky. While Lori Loughlin’s legal team is reportedly “demanding” a looksee at the evidence against her and husband Mossimo Giannulli, the fact that the former USC coach accused of helping Loughlin’s daughter get into USC is now set to plead guilty in the college admissions cheating scandal.
Federal officials say Laura Janke will pleading guilty to racketeering…and she’s cooperating with investigators. Janke was USC’s assistant women’s soccer coach for seven years – and prosecutors say she admitstaking tens of thousands of dollars in bribes. In one instance, Janke reportedly created the profile for Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade Giannulli, as a crew athlete, even though she’d never took part in the sport. She has reportedly admitted to doing the same for another defendant’s son.
What does this mean for Janke? Convictions on charges of racketeering conspiracy, along with mail and honest services mail fraud, each carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. But, as part of her plea deal, she’ll likely receive a significantly lesser sentence.
