- John Singleton’s stroke was more serious than we thought.
- He’s in a coma.
- His mother is applying for conservatorship of his affairs.
We told you that John Singleton had a mild stroke last week. Now we’re hearing that it was more serious. The 51-year-old is actually in a coma and his family is in the process of establishing a conservatorship for him.
To review, the director checked himself into the hospital when he experienced weakness in his leg after a flight from Costa Rica. He experienced a stroke while in the hospital.
Now that John is having health problems, his mother, Sheila Ward, has filed paperwork to be appointed temporary conservator over his affairs. She says he’s currently “unable to properly provide for his personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter.” Additionally, he was engaged in several business projects and was prepared to sign a lucrative settlement agreement. She wants to handle those affairs and execute the settlement agreement.
- Sadly, Singleton didn’t have any medical directives – hence the reason someone needs a conservatorship.
