Austin Jones is going to federal prison for ten years on child pornography charges. The former YouTube star asked almost 40 girls to send him sexually explicit videos. He was sentenced in Chicago because at least six of them did.
The 26-year-old pleaded guilty in February. According to prosecutors, he used the girls’ youth, their vulnerabilities, and their adoration of him to reel them in. He not only gave suggestions for poses and underwear choices, he also gave them “lines” to recite.
Jones had a large teen following and some of his music videos got millions of views on YouTube. He parlayed that into tours.
