Max Wright has died. The 75-year-old lost his battle with cancer at his home in Hermosa Beach, California yesterday. He’d been diagnosed with lymphoma in 1995 but it had been in remission for several years.

Wright was a veteran of the stage and screen. He starred in “All That Jazz,” “Soul Man,” and “The Shadow,” as well as appearing in shows like “Buffalo Bill,” “Cheers,” and “Misfits of Science.” However, he will forever be remembered for playing Willie Tanner on “ALF,” the NBC sitcom that ran from 1986 to 1990.

Max’s wife of 52 years, Linda Ybarrondo, preceded him in death in 2017. He’s survived by their two children.
