Is Faye Dunaway an abusive diva or a woman who demands respect? Depends on whom you ask. As we told you, she was fired from a Broadway-bound play because of her bad behavior. While she has yet to publicly respond to the charges, insiders say she’s slamming the claims as vicious “lies.”

The way Faye sees it, the producers of “Tea at Five” are scapegoating her because of low ticket sales. According to the source, Faye said, “They were cutting corners, and tried to do the play with no budget.” The person went on to say, “Faye said she was doing the play a favor, and it was only headed to Broadway because of her. She thinks producers failed to market the play properly, and as a result ticket sales were bad. So they used Faye as the scapegoat by blaming her for the show’s failure.”

The source added that the Oscar winner feels that the “diva” allegations are “antifeminist.” Faye feels like the stereotype is being used against her. “People are intimidated by Faye’s assertiveness. If she were a man, she would be called a genius,” the insider noted. “When she walks in the room, she not only turns heads, but she demands respect and won’t hesitate to set you straight if she doesn’t get it. She is not a diva. She is a seasoned, award-winning actress who has paid her dues in Hollywood and deserves nothing but respect. She deserves an apology.”
