Kristen Stewart opens up about her “Twilight” days in Vanity Fair’s September Style Issue. The actress was thrown into the A-list status fire due to her starring role in the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s popular book… and feels like her personality was “misunderstood” at the time.
Back then, Stewart was pegged as a rebel who stayed out of the spotlight and hardly smiled. But she says the press had it all wrong, she just wasn’t trying to be “the center of attention” in a “celebrity-obsessed culture.” “I am in no way rebellious, I just want people to like me,” she adds.
After the “Twilight” saga wrapped, Stewart moved on to smaller projects, working with indie directors like Kelly Reichardt and Oliver Assayas. That’s when the actress feels she was given the chance “to be looked at not as, ‘oh, that’s the girl from ‘Twilight.’”
