He had a heads up on what is in the book,” an insider explained. “He’s not mad or disappointed. This is Demi’s truth, and he always felt sympathetic toward her. He knows her story and that her upbringing was difficult.”

While the split and divorce – in 2011 and 2013, respectively – was hard on Ashton, he has no hard feelings towards Demi. “He knows without that experience and relationship he wouldn’t be where he is or who he is,” the source noted. “He had to go through it to get to this place and he’s grateful for it.” He and Mila Kunis – who got married in 2015 – share four-year-old Wyatt and two-year-old Dimitri.
