“I was a young guy processing a broken heart, you know, kind of an a$$hole,” the legendary comedian explained, calling it “a bit much.” Of course, the 1987 comedy special grossed $50 million bucks in movie theaters.
In case you missed it, Eddie’s early stand-up was often laced with racial, gender, and homosexual stereotypes. He even joked about the AIDS epidemic. Now he calls those jokes “ignorant.” He apologized for it years ago and has no plans to revisit in his upcoming return to stand-up.
