The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is celebrating its 50th anniversary. With 2020 underway, the celebrations have begun. Park rangers and volunteers are hosting the Hibernation Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Dune Climb in Leelanua County. Participants are required to have a park pass and can be picked up at the visitor center in Empire.
