The nationwide “Varsity Blues” college cheating scam will officially go to trial in October – and Lori Loughlin will reportedly be among the first up. Along with her designer husband Mossimo Giannulli, prosecutors are asking for them to be in the first group of 15 parents.
What shape the proceedings take is also up in the air. The prosecution has offered two different proposals – either two or three separate trials separating the accused into groups. Either way, feds want Loughlin and Giannulli included in the first trial suggested for October. A second trial would take place in early 2021, and a third (if needed) would take place in the late spring of 2021.
As we’ve been telling you, the couple is facing 13 charges that include conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering conspiracy. They are accused of paying 500-thousand dollars in bribes to get their daughters into USC in California. That’s also where they just listed their mansion for almost 30-million dollars. They face 50 years in prison if convicted.
