Kevin Hart was in a serious car wreck that required him to have back surgery in September. He’s been fighting to get back to his former self ever since. He gave us an update on his progress yesterday.

The diminutive actor posted a video of himself sparring with his trainer. “It’s all coming back….slowly but surely,” Kevin said. “Patience is what’s most important at this point. Is it easy? Absolutely not….but I’m loving every minute of it. The journey to becoming a greater me continues.”

Kevin’s “Jumani: The Next Level” co-stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jack Black can see the changes he’s made. According to The Rock, the man he considers a little brother realizes just how fragile life is after staring death in the face. “Give an optimistic person a new lease on life and then get outta the way because they’re gonna be rollin’,” he said, adding, “Kev is rollin’.”

Meanwhile, Black could see Kev’s new perspective even before he got out of the hospital. “He seemed to be coming from a different place emotionally and spiritually. He kept on saying that he was going to take this opportunity to breathe.”
