Looks like Lori Louglin and Mossimo Giannulli could catch a break in the college admissions scandal. A judge in the case has ordered the University of Southern California to turn over unredacted documents in the case.

The prosecutors have argued that students trying to get into USC didn’t get preferential treatment if influential people advocate for them. But the judge has seen emails that directly contradict that claim. While the court initially allowed the school to redact the names of applicants and school officials, the change of heart came because the information is critical to defense attorneys in the case.

Lori’s attorneys, along with other defendants, have argued USC consistently gives preference to so-called “side door” applicants – people with money, power and influence. The way the judge sees it, the documents could support that premise.
