June is Pride Month, and Nickelodeon is taking part in the celebrations, all while appearing to confirm that SpongeBob is a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

In a tweet on Saturday, the television network wrote, “Celebrating #Pride with the LGBTQ+ community and their allies this month and every month” it wrote, and showed photos of SpongeBob, “Avatar” character Korra, who identifies as Queer, and actor Michael D. Cohen, who is Transgender.

In the past, SpongeBob creator Stephen Hillenburg has said that the characters on his show are asexual and asexual people are part of the LGBTQ+ community, which could explain the tweet, too. The network has not confirmed whether or not SpongeBob identifies as gay or not, but fans are still pumped that he appears to be identifying as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
