As if Cuba Gooding Jr. didn’t have enough to deal with in court – with the current collection of assault allegations against him – a new woman has filed suit alleging he rape her in 2013. The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, says the incident happened at The Mercer Hotel in New York City.
According to the lawsuit, after meeting at a VIP lounge, Cuba invited her for drinks back at the hotel, and instead of going to the bar, told her to come to his room with him so he could change. She says the scene started off okay, but when she tried to leave, she claims Gooding blocked her and the assault began.
We won’t go into the details – they’re pretty awful (you can read them HERE) – but the woman says she was assaulted several times, in various ways – and that she escaped only after he fell asleep. Not surprisingly, Cuba’s attorney, Mark Heller is denying everything. “Clearly, this is a fabricated accusation that was never reported to the police,” he says in a statement. “And forms no basis for any claim at this point with seven years having passed.”
- As we’ve reported previously, there are at least 22 women who have accused the actor of sexual misconduct. He has maintained his innocence.
