The latest installment of “Borat” has ruffled a few feathers once again. This time it’s with one of the real-life people who appeared in the movie but did so without realizing what the motivation behind the filming was all about.

Oklahoma City resident Jeanise Jones thought she was participating in a real documentary about a teen being groomed to marry a rich man. She said the filmmakers never came clean to her about the true premise after she was recruited through a church in Oklahoma City to be featured in a documentary. Instead, she was just one of the many unwitting people pranked by Sacha Baron Cohen for “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.”

The New York Post claims that Jeanise feels “betrayed” by filmmakers but she denies that saying she simply wishes she had been paid more money for her appearance. In total, she was paid $3,600 to babysit 24-year-old Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova, who plays Borat’s daughter.

Viewers agree with her and are supporting a Go-Fund-Me account set up by the Pastor who recommended her as a babysitter for the movie. The Go-Fund-Me page asks, “Please consider saying thank you to Jeanise with a tangible gift. She’s unemployed right now due to Covid. Previously, she worked on a job for 32 years! She’s faithful! Please consider giving a contribution to simply to say thank you to Jeanise for being “A moral compass and a light shining in darkness” in this movie.” So far, over $75,000 has been raised.
