Nearly half of mid-Michigan COVID deaths are from long term care facilities. The largest number of deaths was 28 at the Masonic Center Care Center, where 68 residents and 74 staff contracted COVID-19 in two separate outbreaks. Across Isabella, Gratiot and Clare counties, a total of 223 people are listed as having died from COVID19 so far.
