An afternoon fire yesterday damaged a home in the 800th block of South Mission Road in Union Township. Dispatchers sent fire crews to the scene around 1pm and the fire was under control in about 20 minutes. Upon arrival, the single-story home had smoke coming from both ends of the roof. Occupants were able to get out safely. Mt. Pleasant Fire Dept. is investigating the cause.
