A Michigan State Police trooper has been suspended after a preliminary investigation determined he was the cause of a crash that left one person dead over the weekend. 26-year-old David Engel of DeWitt was killed in the crash on Friday night. The officer was responding to a retail theft call when his vehicle struck the rear of a truck, forcing it into Engle’s vehicle.
