“The Joker” has garnered a lot of criticism for its depiction of violence and mental illness. But as far as Brandon Lee is concerned, the film is spot-on. Lee, who suffers himself from depression and anxiety, took to social media to express his thoughts. “I hope people realize how much we constantly torment people with mental illness in this country,” he explains.
“The Hills” star went on to say that there’s not enough being done to address the current mental health crisis before addressing his own issues. “You feel alone, helpless, and like there is no way out. You feel like you are drowning,” he noted. “Those sorts of feelings can push someone to do anything.”
