Todd and Julie Chrisley were cleared of their state tax evasion charge last week. While the couple still has federal charges to worry about, they’re taking legal action over the state charge, saying they were unjustly and “specifically targeted” by the director of the Georgia Department of Revenue’s Office of Special Investigations. According to legal documentation, the Chrisley’s accuse Joshua Waites of abusing his power, alleging he tried to get information about their family by targeting their estranged daughter Lindsie and then sharing their confidential tax info with her when she couldn’t help him. The reality stars call Waites an “out-of-control public servant” who “violated the rights of innocent citizens” by targeting the famous family.
