Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is asking people to open their hearts and wallets to help those in Australia.
She launched a GoFundMe campaign this week as much of the country is surrounded by flames. More than 200 fires have been burning for months, killing at least 24 people and an estimated one-billion animals.
Celebrity donations have been pouring in since Russell Crowe‘s speech at the Golden Globes. The GoFundMe goal is five-million dollars. At last check, the total tops a million, with “everyday people” being the bulk of the donors.
