A 16-month old toddler was struck by a vehicle and killed Saturday morning in Gratiot County’s Sumner Township. According to police the boy ran out in front of the car, driven by a 24 year old Alma man, who was going at or below the speed limit and tried to swerve to avoid hitting the child. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
