Despite a comeback effort in the 9th inning, the Great Lakes Loons fell 9-6 to the South Bend Cubs Tuesday in Indiana. The Loons trailed 4-0 early before clawing their way back to cut the lead to 4-3. South Bend then scored five more before the Loons added three runs in the 9th inning, but it wasn’t enough to overcome such a large deficit. Former Chippewa Zach McKinstry had another great night at the plate, picking up three hits and a walk in the loss for the Loons.
