Shepherd Village Council members interviewed three finalists for the new Shepherd Police Chief Tuesday night. Isabella County Central Dispatch supervisor Garret Salter, Isabella County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Dale Hegel and Montcalm County Sheriff’s Deputy Luke Sawyer are all being considered for the position vacated by Michael Main, who is now the interim Isabella County Sheriff. Village President Lee Coughlin said they hope to make a decision at Monday night’s regular meeting.
